Description

Join volunteers from around the world in a beautiful African country to work on wildlife conservation projects. African Impact offers volunteer placements in Madagascar, Seychelles, Zambia, Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zanzibar, or Kenya. Choose from a broad range of programs including:

- Hands-on Lion Conservation
- African Big 5
- Big Cat Wildlife Research
- Elephant Research Conservation
- Endangered Black Rhino Conservation
- Dolphin Research & Marine Conservation

We offer lifetime opportunities to work directly or indirectly with Africa’s majestic wildlife! Activities vary according to projects and locations, but these mostly involve promoting ethical tours, assisting with the care and/or research on wildlife, and helping run sanctuaries or reserves.

Of course, you will have time to enjoy surrounding attractions and go on trips with fellow volunteers. There are plenty of things to do, from gathering around a campfire to engaging in outdoor activities!

Qualifications

Most of our projects are open to unqualified volunteers who go through an orientation program on arrival to prepare them for project work. Our volunteers must have passion, an open mind and a willingness to learn, participate and contribute.

Some Wildlife Conservation programs require volunteers already qualified as vets, in the process of becoming a vet (preferably minimum third-year student), or have experience as veterinary nurses looking to gain hands-on experience on all facets of wildlife capture and veterinary procedures. With the right experience, others may be considered.
