Description

Help protect and conserve the native turtles in Ontario, as well as their natural habitats, by joining us in Canada for this volunteer program. The project achieves their mission through the operation of a “turtle hospital” that treats injured turtles, and then rehabilitates and releases them. The project is also passionately dedicated to the study of further conservation methods and programs aimed at educating the public on these beautiful creatures.

As a volunteer to this project, you can help in a number of ways! These include, but aren’t limited to the following:
- Transporting injured turtles in need of immediate medical attention
- Assisting with ongoing care, including feeding and cleaning tanks
- Supporting fundraising projects as well as educational and outreach programs

Injured turtles generally spend up to a year in the shelter; hence, volunteers are always needed. Your participation will be greatly appreciated.

At the project, your top priority are the turtles. Depending on your interests and/or skills, you’ll be requested to handle numerous tasks. The work can be demanding, so be prepared to get your hands dirty. This project isn’t an ideal option if you’re seeking an ‘easy holiday’.
