Description

Explore South Africa while volunteering your time and efforts at a wildlife rehabilitation center aimed at providing a safe haven for injured and abandoned wildlife in the region. Vulnerable wildlife are brought to the center to regain their strength and confidence with the ultimate goal of reintroducing them back into the wild. Those, whose injuries are too extensive to the point wherein reintroduction would be harmful, are given a permanent home at the center and cared for by the compassionate and enthusiastic staff and volunteers.

Volunteer duties include:
– Nurturing orphaned animals
– Care and management of permanent residents of the center
– Cleaning animal enclosures
– Maintenance of the center's grounds such as alien plant removal, road upkeep, and others
– Responding to call-outs to go capture and either relocate the animal or bring it into the center for rehabilitation
– Observational wildlife veterinary experience

Volunteers are expected to work about 8 hours a day.
