Description

This project is part of Green Planet Venture's sustainable development work. The reserve of Cazumba- racema exists to support the livelihood of the rubber tappers (rubber extractors).

In the Amazon, the rubber tree does not grow in plantations, it only grows in the middle of healthy primary forests, so those that use rubber as their livelihood, also need the forest alive. Hence, these communities fight to conserve their forests.

During your participation in this project you can be involved with the community in any of their productions: rubber extraction, harvest or Brazil Nut or Acai Berry, the production of Acai berry pulp, working in the artisanal workshop producing rubber objects and more. Your participation in this project will not only help the community, but also (and most importantly) support their endeavours to keep the forests alive. Our presence there speaks the message that message that the forests of the region matter to us all.

You will stay at the researcher’s house but will interact or participate with the community during your work and other activities. To get the most out of your experience we recommend that you learn some Portuguese before you travel.
