Description

Volunteer abroad in Jamaica by taking part in local environmental projects on Hellshire Beach or the Royal Botanical Garden, two renowned conservation areas in the country.

The initiative on Hellshire Beach revolves around fighting plastic waste left on the shore. This is a major problem, with many vendors on the beach selling plastic bottled sodas and water but don’t have proper disposal.

The Royal Botanical Garden, or Hope Garden, is the largest of its kind in the Caribbean. While it features exotic flora native to the area, the park was vandalized. Hence, a nonprofit organization has set up a restoration project to conserve Jamaica’s diverse resources.

No matter which placement you join, you’ll also have the opportunity to work with local communities and schools. Help in raising awareness of the need to conserve and care for the environment.

Available all year round and lasting from 2–12 weeks, the Environmental Conservation Volunteering in Jamaica is open to all volunteers. You don’t need prior experience to join this placement. All you need to have is a love for the environment and a passion for helping others.
