The current pandemic has made international trips complicated or impossible in many countries. But Kaya has developed a special 2020-2021 program with great consideration of travel precautions during COVID times. Our Community Volunteering Project in Jamaica ensures your safety and that of the local community. Join us starting on September 21, 2020 and onward for 3–12 weeks.

The program starts with a two-week quarantine in Ocho Rios, which involves a structured itinerary of activities to keep you busy. There will be daily morning exercises, development and presentation of workshops for local entrepreneurs, cultural immersion, and online volunteering with disadvantaged children between 3 and 5 years old.

In the third week, an official government release form will enable you to proceed to Kingston for the volunteer project. There, you’ll personally meet the kids you’ve been teaching online. You will continue working as an assistant to a local teacher. Beyond three weeks, your role may vary depending on the volunteer activities you decide to pursue.

You don’t require specific skills to join this community project in Jamaica. However, you need to be enthusiastic, flexible, and patient when working with children. Any skills are appreciated for the entrepreneurs’ workshops.
