Help a local organization boost the future prospects of children from impoverished communities in Rwanda through this enriching volunteering opportunity. The Education Support program gives offers you a unique chance to support underprivileged kids while improving the lives of people who have suffered greatly as a result of the horrific genocide that occurred in the country just 20 years ago.

The aim of this program is to support children from families who were affected by genocide, and children who come from some of Rwanda’s poorest families, through the provision of school fees, school materials, and education.

Your participation is desperately needed in assisting local teachers in the classroom and in managing your own classes. Subjects can be taught depending on your skills and interests. But due to the increased opportunities it can provide each child, teaching English is the main priority here.

You will also participate in the homework club every weekend and during the holidays to help the children with English and Maths, and any other subjects they may be struggling in. This gives the children the chance to improve their results by working in small groups.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old at the start of the placements (unless accompanied by an adult). A good command of English is required.
