Want the chance to bring joy to those worst affected by social injustice?

The women's empowerment program in Morocco allows volunteers to get a clear idea of women’s rights in Morocco. Living in a male-dominated society, some women in Morocco are illiterate and lack the opportunities to develop this (and other) fundamental skills. The project aims to educate girls and young women, who are otherwise deprived of education and training.

Volunteers teach the women and girls English and provide skill-oriented training by assisting in workshops. Ultimately this helps to improve their standard of living, their self-confidence, and encourages them to be independent and generate an income. This is a hugely rewarding program, and input from volunteers can be clearly seen translated into real life-changing skills for the women this project supports.

Volunteers are required to have a good level of either French or Arabic, as very few of the women on this program speak English. Having sufficient knowledge of either language to effectively communicate will be an advantage for the volunteer, and will be extremely beneficial for the girls and young women.

Volunteers are required to speak another language besides English, ideally French, Morocco's second language, or Arabic. A measure of experience in the field in which they are volunteering is also sought. Lastly, initiative and self-motivation are essential.
