Operation Wallacea is a research and environmental organization, working alongside university and college academics to build long-term data sets to put towards various conservation management goals. We recruit volunteers to help out with the data collection, and train them in the skills and background that's needed to help effectively.

Our Croatia project gives volunteers the opportunity to participate in a broad range of surveys in a very short time period. You spend one week in a secluded area of the Krka National Park - one of Croatia's most scenic and popular protected areas, before spending your second week on the stunning Silba Island. In the first week, you will have the chance to take part in surveys for birds, rare cave fauna, herpetofauna, mammals and freshwater fish. In the second week, you will have the opportunity to learn to dive, complete an Adriatic coastal ecology course, and participate in surveys for fish populations, mollusks and seagrass.

1. Opportunity to work in the spectacular Krka river valley in an area with wolves, jackals, and other keystone species.

2. Only Europe-based expedition that provides the opportunity to combine both marine and terrestrial research work.

3. Learn to dive in the oldest marine park in the Mediterranean, Mljet National Park.
