This programme is based in a wonderful rural town in northern India called Palampur. Located in a beautiful setting nestled in between tea plantations and pine forests, Palampur is an old market town boasting a variety of health institutions. As a volunteer, you could help in dental clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, physiotherapy clinics, and centres practicing traditional forms of medical treatment.

If you are looking to enroll in a medical, nursing, or physiotherapy course, this work experience will set you apart from other students. You will shadow doctors and nurses, and be involved in a number of different departments including a pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, occupational therapy, nursing, physiotherapy, general surgery, and general wards.

You will work 5 days a week, between 9:30 am and 2:00 pm. During the afternoons, you can enjoy the spacious volunteer accommodation that houses up to 20 people and offers yoga lessons on the rooftop overlooking the beautiful Himalayas. Enjoy local sites and make use of the badminton court located at your accommodation.

A highly recommended, optional language and cultural week is offered in Delhi before your arrival to Palampur.
