Description

Projects Abroad offers meaningful volunteer opportunities in Belize for anyone with a passion for alternative travel and giving back to disadvantaged communities. Volunteering in this beautiful Central American country is open to all on a gap year, career break, or those just looking for a meaningful experience during a vacation. With Projects Abroad, you will live and work alongside the diverse and friendly locals of Belize.

Despite the fact that Belize has become an increasingly popular tourist destination, the country still faces major development challenges and there are many people in need. Volunteers can get involved in improving literacy levels on the Teaching project, caring for children and helping their educational development on the Care project, providing healthcare in impoverished communities on the Public Health project, and preserving the Belize Barrier Reef in the Marine Conservation project.

Highlights

Projects Abroad volunteer and internship programs are based in Placencia, a peninsula nestled between a lagoon and the Caribbean that is home to 35,000 people. Volunteers live with local host families who welcome them into their homes and help volunteers become part of the local communities. There are also numerous travel and adventure opportunities for volunteers to take part in boating, scuba diving, snorkeling, rafting, and kayaking.

Volunteers choose their own start & end dates so you can join us at any time of the year that suits you best!
