This is a week-long adventure service trip based in the mountainous villages of the remote DR. You’ll swim in the Caribbean turquoise water, relax on the white sand beaches and eat fresh fish straight from the sea while also having an impact. The rural Dominican Republic is home to some of the lowest standards of living in the country. Houses often lack running water or electricity, and sewage systems are absent in many places. Work alongside the welcoming Dominican community on infrastructure and water quality improvements while immersing yourself in island culture. In the evenings, you’ll hike to pristine waterfalls hidden within the country’s mountains and enjoy the laid-back and welcoming nature of small town life. You’ll wrap up this trip with a tour of the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home of the first university, cathedral and hospital in the Americas.
