This program is designed especially for students who are passionate about turtle conservation and want to embrace the authentic and rustic park ranger lifestyle! Live at an actual park ranger station, take cold showers, and work alongside the rangers in a wildlife refuge as you work to protect endangered sea turtles. Take walks along the beach at high tide to track sea turtle behavior. You’ll also have time to zip line through the rainforest, surf in the pristine caribbean water, practice spanish with locals and enjoy the beautiful Costa Rican beach views and sunsets.

BUILD a hatchery and an environmentally friendly containment unit for baby turtles to give them a better chance of survival.

PATROL the beach at night to collect newly laid turtle eggs and relocate them to the safety of the hatchery.

LEARN about various turtle conservation efforts being undertaken in Costa Rica and around the globe.

LIVE, work, and play on a pristine beach on the Pacific Coast.

ENJOY a weekend of fun activities including surf and rafting the Savegre river.

HELP ensure that this season's eggs hatch into healthy baby turtles that will head out to sea.

Students must be 14 years old and up to participate on the program. Additionally, participants must submit an application through the Rustic Pathways website and complete the appropriate documents before traveling on the program.
