Description

Join The Great Projects and the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF) in their mission to protect orangutans at the Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Sanctuary – as seen on Channel 4’s ‘Orangutan Jungle School’!

Nyaru Menteng is the world’s largest orangutan rescue and rehabilitation centre, and is currently home to more than 390 of these incredible apes. Mass deforestation and the illegal pet trade have posed a major threat to much of Borneo’s wildlife, which is why organisations such as BOSF work to provide a safe haven for a large number of displaced orangutans. BOSF’s efforts include the rescue, rehabilitation and eventual release of these orangutans, though it is only with the help of volunteers that the team can continue to carry out their work.

By choosing to volunteer with The Great Projects, you will have the unique opportunity to participate at this phenomenal orangutan sanctuary – after all, we are the only travel company to support this project. From creating enrichment to exploring Borneo’s rich rainforest, this project promises to be a meaningful, eye-opening and memorable experience from beginning to end.
